Allenhurst’s popular beach club will have a new entrance that may be up and running by the end of this year.

“It will certainly be in place by the next summer season,” Administrator/acting-Borough Clerk Donna Campagna said.

She said the project is funded through a $140,000 Monmouth County Open Space grant with the borough bonding for the remaining amount since it is a matching grant.

The $297,000 project was awarded to Precise Construction Inc., based in Freehold. Campagna said the project includes a new entranceway at the eastern end of Allen Avenue, near Mr. C’s Beach Bistro.

The project also includes construction of another beach booth at the entrance, with the area also being landscaped with new lighting, pavers and benches.

“We hope the project will be done before the cold weather but it will certainly be done before the next beach season. It will look beautiful,” Campagna said.
