The Lollipop Pond Trails Committee collected tires, logs and fishing line from the pond at a cleanup recently.
On Sun., Oct. 22 the Lollipop Pond and Trails Committee had a cleanup of Lollipop Pond in Ocean Township in coordination with the Deal Lake Commission.
More than 25 Wanamassa friends and family’s joined committee members Michael Palutis, Bobby Siliato and Ed DeFiglia as they pulled tires, bottles, logs and a number of trash cans from the Pond. They also picked up numerous bags of garbage, fishing line, and other assorted trash.
The Committee was formed by Ocean Township Council through resolution on Aug. 3. The mission is to bring community awareness of Lollipop Pond and the clearing and reestablishing the trails that connect Wickapecko Drive to Logan Road providing the community a safe passage to Dave Dahrouge Park.
The committee is scheduled to complete the first phase of the project, connecting Wickapecko Drive, N. Dittmar to Birch Avenue on Park Boulevard allowing residents to walk over the Maple Avenue Bridge to the Sunset Avenue side of Wanamassa.
